#3312 Busy Steffie
(1972) In 1973 Hong Kong was added to the marking instead of USA
In 1972 the very pretty Steffie doll was released. She came in four versions; #1183 Walk Lively (1972), #1186 Talk Busy (1972), #3312 Busy Steffie (1972) and #7888 Busy Babs (1974). Busy Babs was the same doll as #3312 Busy Steffie, but with a new name. These dolls with "busy" hands made it easy to grasp most any kind of object. The Steffie head mold is one of the most popular head molds of all time, and has been used on numerous dolls over the years.
Busy Babs #7888 is the exact same doll as #3312 Busy Steffie and she wore the same outfit too. She just has a new name! She came in a baggie rather than a box. Basically Mattel had extra dolls so they repackaged them with a new name!
#1183 Steffie Walk Lively
(1972-1973)
#1186 Talk Busy Steffie
#1186 Talk Busy Steffie (1972-1973) came in blue and pink outfit shown above and with the same five accessories as #3312 Busy Steffie; telephone, record player, television, travel case and soda set (brown tray with two glasses). When you pull her string she would talk like "real teens". She would say “I love to wear my hair in curls.” "I am having dinner with Barbie.” “Let’s call Barbie Now.” “I dig having my own TV.” “The new fashions are wild.” “That music is groovy.” She and her other two Talk Busy friends, Barbie and Ken were only on the market one year.
