Cara was first introduced in 1975 and produced in two versions during the year: #7291 Quick Curl Cara and #7283 Free Moving Cara. In 1976, #9220 Quick Curl Deluxe Cara and #9528 Cara Ballerina were released. All four versions of the Cara doll have brown eyes and brown hair. They use the beautiful Steffie head mold, just like many other dolls in the Barbie family. Note: even though the Quick Curl box is marked 1974, it wasn't available until 1975.
