In 1963 the #870 Fashion Queen Barbie with a molded brown painted head was released. She had blue eyes and pink or coral lips. She's on a Midge/Barbie body, and wore a one-piece gold and white striped strapless swimsuit, blue headband, and matching head scarf. Included in the set were three wigs. In 1964, they added the word patented to her body marking. She is the first girl doll in the line to have a molded head. She is marked Midge T.M./©1962 Barbie ®/©1958 by Mattel, Inc. (patented added in 1964). In the box she wore her gold and white striped swimsuit, matching head scarf, blue head band, pearl earrings, and white open-toe heels. Also a black wire stand, plastic wig holder, 3 wigs, and booklet were included.
1964 Fashion Queen came with these three wigs: The blonde bubble cut, the red flip, and the brunette pageboy.
