#1174 Hair Happenin's Barbie (1971) was a department store exclusive doll that was sold by several different stores. She was only made for one year and is a very, very hard doll to find. She has only titian hair color and does not have bangs. She has rooted eyelashes, bendable legs and a twist 'n turn waist. She came with 3 titian hair pieces for her hair which were called Mini Curls, Midi Swirls, and Fashion Fall. Surprisingly, she was never in the Mattel catalog for 1971. She is marked: ©1966 Mattel, Inc./U.S. Patented/U.S. Pat Pend./Made In/Japan.
She came dressed in this peasant style dress which included a wide black felt belt. Also she wore black t-strap shoes. Three titian colored hair pieces came along with the set. Her clear stand can be flipped over to make a seat for her.
